Brazil Practice

McLaughlin & Stern’s Brazil Practice Group includes attorneys who know the language, culture, business trends and laws of Brazil.  Some of our attorneys are admitted to the bar in Brazil, in addition to the United States. For decades, these attorneys have advised clients doing business, raising capital and investing in Brazil; worked with Brazilian companies and their subsidiaries transacting business in the U.S. and elsewhere; and represented Brazilian individuals with interests in the U.S.

The group's experience in Brazil covers various areas, including transactional services assisting both U.S. and non-U.S. based businesses in setting up and maintaining a wide variety of investment holdings, financial, as well as commercial and industrial operations. The group has also assisted clients in negotiating secured and unsecured credit facilities, multilateral financing, cross-border distribution, agency and supply agreements, loan syndications, commercial paper offerings, structured financings, Eurodollar note offerings, letter of credit financing and other credit enhancement facilities and formation of offshore companies and trusts.

A significant number of the group's clients are financial institutions for whom the group advises on both transactional, commercial and regulatory matters. Our group also represents Brazilian family offices with respect to U.S. investments, pre-immigration tax and estate planning, and immigration matters.

McLaughlin & Stern maintains offices in New York and Florida and attorneys in such offices work hand-in-hand and collaborate with local counsel, when necessary, to develop innovative solutions to help clients explore business opportunities throughout the world. The Brazil Practice Group maintains relations with a wide range of local counsel throughout Latin America ranging from the largest firms to small boutique firms.
