Mr. Lion has spent over 30 years counseling clients in transactions and disputes including corporate, financial, maritime and regulatory matters.
He advises international and domestic corporations on the application of United States laws and government regulations to their operations. He has extensive experience assisting clients in negotiation of international contracts, including secured and unsecured financings, revolving credit facilities, sale and leasebacks, joint ventures, asset sales and acquisitions.
Mr. Lion advises clients about transportation regulation and related commercial matters. He advises clients regarding United States government regulations and compliance.
In recent years, Mr. Lion has represented a shipowning group in a series of financings to provide funding of over one billion dollars for acquisition of ships in shipyards in Europe and Asia. He has also represented clients in private placements secured by ship terminals in the United States, and in corporate acquisition financing. He recently represented the seller in sale and leaseback financings of over 20 oceangoing vessels.
Mr. Lion has received the highest rating of “AV” from Martindale-Hubbell.
