On September 19, 2022, the WE CARE Fund is honoring Geoffry R. Handler, Esq., Managing Partner of McLaughlin & Stern and Ronald J. Bredow PT, Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of NY Physical Therapy & Wellness. Founded by Stephen W. Schlissel in 1996, the Golf & Tennis Classic is WE CARE’s biggest event of the year.
Mr. Handler is the Managing Partner of McLaughlin & Stern and concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate law, trusts and estates, and taxation. He specializes in the comprehensive representation of high net worth families and their business enterprises. Ancillary to his practice in these areas, Mr. Handler has also overseen the acquisition and management of private aircraft for his clients, as well as the charter operations relating thereto.
Early on in his career Mr. Handler was involved in complex litigation involving major financial institutions and this has provided him with a certain perspective in advising his individual, families, and business clients. With Mr. Alkalay of the Firm, Mr. Handler was counsel to a purchaser of a Major League Baseball franchise. He has also been instrumental in advising several clients when their businesses joined together with well known private equity firms.
Mr. Handler has served as a director for several corporate clients, including a major media company operating throughout the country and abroad, and also sits on the boards of several private foundations. He has been called upon to act in a fiduciary capacity as a trustee and executor for many of his clients and has represented accounting and other law firms in merger transactions.
Mr. Handler was born in Columbus, Ohio and is an avid runner and golfer.
