McLaughlin & Stern Representing Employees of Rochdale Village Who Are Members of Special and Superior Officers Benevolent Association Alleging Breach of the Duty of Fair Representation

Thu 15 November 2018 Press Releases

On Monday, November 12, 2018, McLaughlin & Stern, LLP filed a complaint on behalf of Ansdher Civil, an employee of Rochdale Village and a member of Special and Superior Officers Benevolent Association (“SSOBA”), in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. SSOBA is a labor union that represents security personnel, including security personnel employed by Rochdale Village.

The complaint alleges that SSOBA failed to adequately and fairly represent its members to redress wage and hour violations committed by Rochdale Village. Specifically, Plaintiff alleges that SSOBA ignored its members’ wage and hour grievances and, in fact, made a concerted effort to bar its members from being able to assert their grievances in any forum. Therefore, as alleged by Plaintiff, SSOBA breached its duty of fair representation it owes to SSOBA members.

A link to the complaint is attached below.
