McLaughlin & Stern Files Class Action Against Frontier Airlines for Unpaid Wages Owed to Flight Attendants

Thu 23 April 2026 News & Press

April 23, 2026 — McLaughlin & Stern, LLP announced today that it has filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of current and former Frontier Airlines flight attendants working in New Jersey.

This marks the firm’s second lawsuit filed against a major airline on behalf of uncompensated flight attendants, reinforcing McLaughlin & Stern’s leadership in advancing wage and hour claims in the aviation industry. The firm currently has a similar case pending in New Jersey against United Airlines.

The complaint alleges that Frontier Airlines has engaged in systematic wage violations by failing to compensate flight attendants for all hours worked, including overtime pay.

The complaint states that Frontier compensates flight attendants only for “Block Time,” defined as the period between when the aircraft’s parking brake is released prior to departure and when it is set upon arrival. This practice excludes numerous essential duties that flight attendants must perform, including pre-flight check-ins, boarding and deplaning passengers, conducting safety checks, and performing work between flights.

By failing to account for these hours, the complaint alleges that Frontier has deprived flight attendants of millions of dollars in wages and overtime compensation in violation of New Jersey wage and hour laws.

“This case is about ensuring that flight attendants are paid for all of the work they are required to perform,” said [[ADD]] at McLaughlin & Stern. “Frontier’s pay practices, as alleged, deny workers compensation for substantial time spent on the job. this lawsuit reflects our commitment to holding airlines accountable for systemic pay practices that shortchange flight crews.”

The suit, brought on behalf of named plaintiff Arnaldo Mendoza and similarly situated flight attendants based out of New Jersey, seeks unpaid wages, overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, and injunctive relief to prevent future violations.
