Linda Rosenthal and Marcy Katz Join Peter Alkalay as Co-Chairs of Matrimonial and Family Law Department
McLaughlin and Stern is proud to announce that Linda Rosenthal and Marcy Katz will be joining Peter Alkalay as the new Co-Chairs of its Matrimonial and Family Law department. Both are exceptionally skilled attorneys with extensive experience handling complex matrimonial and family law matters. Together, they will help lead the firm’s practice to new heights.
Linda Rosenthal began her career as a constitutional litigator at the Center for Reproductive Rights and then as a complex civil litigator at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, prior to dedicating her practice exclusively to Matrimonial and Family law. She has handled diverse range of sophisticated legal matters, including highly contested emergency custody applications, complex litigation involving business appraisal and cash-flow issues; drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements; and significant high-conflict trials and appeals. Linda is admitted to practice not only in New York State courts, but also in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Second, Fifth, and Seventh Circuits, and numerous Federal district courts.
Marcy Katz has been practicing matrimonial and family law since 2006, specializing in representing high-net-worth individuals in New York Supreme Court, Family Court and Appellate Court cases. Her practice spans a variety of related legal matters, including divorce, property distribution, child custody, spousal support, child support and prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements, as well as representing clients in complex mediations. She also regularly acts as a resource for the media, including appearing on Good Morning America and being quoted by ABCNews.com.
Peter Alkalay has been practicing law for nearly five decades, concentrating in family and matrimonial law. His practice covers every county in New York, and is devoted to handling complex matrimonial and family matters, including negotiating separation and settlement agreements and high-profile matrimonial matters. He also previously acted as outside counsel to amateur sports organizations, including USA Track and Field, the United States Soccer Federation and the American Horse Show Association. He has tried cases in both state and federal courts, including one case in which he appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court.
