Mon 24 October 2022 News & Events

Dan Horwitz, a partner with the firm and chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department and White-Collar Defense & Investigation Practice, was quoted in The New York Times for an article on the upcoming trial of The Trump Organization, which is facing charges of tax fraud, among others. “Having the company’s top financial officer as your star witness is a prosecutor’s dream”, he said.

Mr. Horwitz was also interviewed by Bloomberg News about the trial. ” A conviction in a criminal case is serious. Is it definitive that a company convicted of a crime will be shunned by lenders and creditors? Not necessarily. Is it a good thing if the Trump Organization is convicted of cheating the government of millions of dollars in taxes over the years? No, it’s not good.”

Mr. Horwitz has extensive experience in leading numerous investigations on behalf of corporations, audit committees, special litigation committees, and special board committees. Specifically, Mr. Horwitz has represented clients in connection with allegations of securities fraud, corporate accounting fraud, insider trading, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, tax fraud, construction industry fraud, money laundering, public corruption, and antitrust violations.
