New York State Issues Guidance on How to Obtain a Precautionary or Mandatory Order of Quarantine or Isolation Pursuant to the COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Law

To obtain a precautionary or mandatory order of quarantine or isolation pursuant to the COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Law, individuals are directed to contact their Local Health Department (LHD). A list of the various LHDs can be found on the New York State Department of Health’s website at https://www.health.ny.gov/contact-us/contact_information/

LHDs are required to provide the requested orders within 30 days. The guidance also describes what type of documentation is required from a licensed medical provider in support of a request for an order of quarantine or isolation.
