Sara focuses her practice on estate planning and estate and trust administration. She has nearly 20 years of experience working with high-net-worth clients to implement their estate plan, whether the primary focus is estate tax planning or ensuring that property passes in the manner intended. She regularly advises on gifting and tax strategies using SLATs, GRATs, ILITs and other lifetime trusts, succession planning for family-owned real estate, charitable giving, and creating and implementing customized estate plans to accomplish her clients’ objectives. 

Sara’s experience with tax planning also extends to the preparation of estate and gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. In addition to tax planning, she handles all aspects of administration from inception to settlement of estates, which includes probate, administration and miscellaneous court proceedings, preparation of informal and judicial estate accountings.

Prior to joining McLaughlin & Stern, Sara was a partner at a firm in Locust Valley, New York.
