Since graduating from Columbia University School of Law in 1977, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Paul H. Levinson has had broad experience in civil and criminal litigation, and in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Since 1985, as an associate and then a member of Leavy Rosensweig & Hyman (and its predecessor firms), and now as a partner at McLaughlin & Stern, Mr. Levinson has litigated on a wide range of civil and commercial matters including corporate partnership and contractual business disputes; civil and constitutional rights; intellectual property; literary property; publishing, art and entertainment law; employment discrimination; insurance defense; defamation; restrictive covenants; civil RICO; and real property. Building upon his experience as a Supervising Senior Trial Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney, Kings County (New York), where he served from 1977 to 1984, Mr. Levinson has represented individual and corporate defendants in criminal matters. He has also had extensive experience in commercial, entertainment and construction arbitration, as well as in international arbitration.

Mr. Levinson serves as a Mediator in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in the Counties of New York, Queens and Westchester, and is also available for private mediations.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Levinson’s clients in entertainment and the arts have included a Tony-nominated choreographer, Off-Broadway theater companies and individual performers and artists. Mr. Levinson is a past President and Treasurer of Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance (NUEA), an alumni group in the New York metropolitan area comprised of more than 150 graduates from Northwestern University who are involved in all aspects of theater, film, broadcast and print media and advertising.

Mr. Levinson received his Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. He is a member of the Litigation, Intellectual Property, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Criminal Justice Sections, and of the Forum on Entertainment & Sports Industries, of the American Bar Association. He also participates in the Commercial and Federal Litigation, Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law and Criminal Justice Sections of the New York State Bar Association, and is currently a member of the Professional Ethics Committee of the New York City Bar Association.

Mr. Levinson resides with his wife in the Village of Rye Brook, New York, where he formerly served as a member of the Village’s Advisory Council on Parks and Recreation, and where he previously served as a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Community Synagogue of Rye, New York, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Ritual Committee.
