Michael Anthony Lucatorto is an associate in McLaughlin & Stern’s Matrimonial and Family Law Group. Michael’s practice covers all aspects of matrimonial and family law including cases involving high-conflict custody and visitation issues, complex property division, allegations of domestic violence and child abuse, pre and postnuptial agreements, and novel issues facing LGBTQ+ and non-traditional families. 

Before joining the Firm, Michael worked in the New York County Supreme Court’s Matrimonial Division as a law clerk to the Honorable Ariel D. Chesler, after having previously interned for the Honorable Michael L. Katz, also in New York County’s Matrimonial Division. During his time working as a law clerk, Michael gained hands-on experience in all aspects of matrimonial practice. 

During law school, Michael was a summer associate and law clerk for the Firm. He worked closely with the domestic violence non-profit, Sanctuary for Families, throughout his law school training, and he externed for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit. Michael received numerous academic distinctions, including being named by the Court of Appeals and New York Law School as a Pro Bono Scholar and receiving a full merit-based scholarship as a Wilf Public Interest Scholar. Michael has also been published in the American Bar Association’s Family Law Quarterly. 

Michael is a proud “cat dad” and is an avid fan of horror movies.
