Karin Barkhorn’s practice spans all major areas of Trusts and Estates practice including estate planning, estate and trust administration, contested Surrogate’s Court’s matters, tax-exempt organization work and prenuptial agreements.  She advises high net worth clients and multi-generational clients on transfers of wealth between generations and to charities and on business succession planning. The administration matters typically involve multi-million dollar estates, and include all aspects of probate, post-mortem planning, tax return preparation and audits, and estate and trust distributions and accountings, whether informal, formal or judicial. 

She chaired the Estate Litigation Committee of the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates section.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

She is the President of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, and a member of the American Heart Association Advisory Council.
