Jeremy Freeman is a Partner and the Chair of Mclaughlin and Stern’s Financial Services Litigation, Investigations and Regulatory Department.

Mr. Freeman has decades of experience counseling and defending large financial institutions, broker-dealers, public companies, financial advisors, investment funds, boards of directors and individuals in all aspects of financial services-related litigation and regulatory actions.

His experience includes representing clients involved in federal securities class actions, adversarial insolvency proceedings, regulatory actions involving all securities, commodities and derivative issues, swap and reinsurance contracts, accounting misconduct and corporate governance liability.  Mr. Freeman also regularly conducts internal investigations and assists clients with evaluating and implementing compliance policies and procedures.

Prior to private practice, Mr. Freeman investigated and litigated dozens of federal securities matters as a Senior Enforcement attorney with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. At the beginning of his career, Mr. Freeman gained valuable litigation experience trying over thirty felony jury trials as a criminal prosecutor, where he focused on technology-related criminal matters.
