McLaughlin & Stern LLP Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Winthrop-University Hospital Association

New York, NY — A class action lawsuit has been filed against Winthrop-University Hospital Association (“Winthrop”) in the Supreme Court of New York, Queens County, Index #23479/12, alleging that the hospital violated New York labor laws by routinely requiring patient care associates to work without proper compensation.

The suit alleges that Winthrop regularly requires its patient care associates to work before and after scheduled shifts, as well as during meal breaks, but does not properly compensate them for all hours worked or for overtime pay. By bringing this suit, the attorneys listed below hope to end that practice and recover the wages and overtime pay each patient care associate training is due under the law.

If you work or have worked at Winthrop in the state of New York and served as a patient care associate, you may request to be included in the proposed class. Please contact McLaughlin & Stern LLP or the Law Firm of Louis Ginsberg PC, for any questions you have about the action.
