Worth Magazine has recognized McLaughlin and Stern Partner, James Kosakow

The Worth Magazine honor is bestowed on lawyers who possess the combination of experience, expertise and interpersonal skills. A year of extensive research and analysis went into compiling the prestigious list (published in the December 2007 issue) which recognizes attorneys who counsel clients regarding critical personal matters such as marriage and divorce, wealth transfer, family business succession, and trusts and estates. The final 100 are chosen for their "outstanding insight, trustworthiness and commitment to their client’s needs."

In 2004, Mr. Kosakow was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a national organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the "highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors."

He is a coauthor of the two-volume text, Handling Federal Estate and Gift Taxes, 6th Edition, published by West Group, and is an assistant editor of Insights and Strategies, a nationally recognized monthly financial and estate planning newsletter for professionals.  He has authored or coauthored more than twenty articles on estate planning which have appeared in Estate Planning Magazine, Elder Law Advisory, Retirement Planning for Individuals, Planning Matters, The Bulletin of the New York Chapter Society of Financial Service Professionals and the probate newsletters of the New York and Connecticut Bar Associations.
