Steven Newburgh Presented CLE at the Bankruptcy Trends Seminar and Judicial Reception

Palm Beach Bankruptcy Partner, Steven S. Newburgh, recently presented a 3.5 credit hour CLE at the Bankruptcy Trends Seminar and Judicial Reception with U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judges for the Southern District of Florida, Eric P. Kimball and Mindy A. Mora. Madam Trustee Robin A. Weiner, the standing chapter 13 trustee for the Southern District of Florida added to the presentation with coverage of chapter 13 issues. Mr. Newburgh covered recent Supreme Court decisions in Midland and Appling and the impact of these and other recent decisions on the constantly-evolving issues facing bankruptcy practitioners, especially as they relate to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Title 15), issues of state and federal pre-emption and the challenges presented to law firms which fall within the definition of "Debt Relief Agencies" under Sections 526, 527 and 528 of the US Bankruptcy Code (Title 11).
