
After graduating from Princeton University and serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, Edward Klagsbrun received his law degree from Harvard Law School and became an associate at Hays Sklar & Herzberg. He then joined the predecessor of Deutsch Klagsbrun & Blasband LLP, where he was a partner for 33 years until joining McLaughlin & Stern.
Mr. Klagsbrun is active in the general practice of corporate and intellectual property law and represents leading trade, educational, scientific, technical and medical publishers and other creators and disseminators of print and electronic information products and services. He has participated in all aspects of publishing, literary property, libel, privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, trade secret law and protection and licensing of intellectual property rights in all forms and media. He is also active in antitrust counseling and acts as counsel to non-profit organizations.
He is a past member of the advisory board of the Copyright Committee of the Information Industry Association and has been a consultant to the Ford Foundation as well as other non-profit organizations. With his wife and their two children, he resides in Chappaqua, New York, where he has served as president of the board of trustees of the Chappaqua Library and has been active in other community matters.
