Summer Program

McLaughlin & Stern's eleven-week Summer Program is a challenging and rewarding professional experience and exposes our summer associates to legal practice at its most sophisticated level. With an emphasis on professional development and skill enhancement, the Summer Program includes a systematic procedure for reviewing, evaluating, and providing feedback to all summer associates.

Summer associates are encouraged to work with attorneys from different practice areas on a variety of substantive and procedural matters. Typical assignments include writing briefs, motions and other litigation papers, drafting corporate and transactional documents, and preparing estate plans. Summer associates may also attend depositions and negotiations, courtroom arguments and administrative hearings, and corporate and real estate closings.

The Summer Program also offers an introduction to life at McLaughlin & Stern through cultural, recreational and social events. These social functions are designed to afford summer associates opportunities to build long-lasting relationships with one another and with other attorneys at the firm.

The Summer Program is the primary means of entry for new attorneys at McLaughlin & Stern. For that reason, we are committed to ensuring that both meaningful training and constructive evaluation continue to serve as key aspects of our Summer Program.
