Michael S. Paradise is a seasoned and experienced attorney who has been practicing law for more than 30 years. He has been characterized as a "lawyer's lawyer" and represents both corporate and individual clients. A corporate and securities lawyer by training, Michael began his career at a number of prominent law firms, including Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
He is experienced in counseling clients in myriad disciplines, including general corporate and mergers and acquisitions, securities regulatory matters, private investment funds, investment advisor and broker dealer matters, intellectual property, licensing, real estate, labor and employment, litigation and arbitration.
An expert in Fashion and Retail law too, from May 2016 through October 2019, Michael was an Executive Vice President and the General Counsel of Steven Madden, Ltd., the diversified footwear and apparel company, where he was in charge of all legal matters, including general corporate matters, cross border joint ventures, corporate governance, labor and employment, real estate (including commercial leasing), licensing, social media, litigation, compliance and intellectual property. His broad knowledge base and contacts in both the financial and fashion worlds, allows him to navigate seamlessly for clients.
Michael is also expert in general counsel matters and acts as the strategic point person for almost any problem or situation that clients face, where he builds teams of experts in various disciplines to address the multiplicity of issues that arise in complex legal situations.
Earlier in his career, before the concept of "hedge fund" found itself in mainstream commerce, Michael founded a hedge fund and venture capital fund, acting as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel.
Michael has written articles and appeared on numerous panels in the financial, corporate and fashion law areas.
