Jonathan R. Jeremias is a partner in the litigation department and specializes in the areas of civil and commercial litigation with a particular emphasis in employment law. Mr. Jeremias has successfully litigated in state and federal courts numerous employment claims, including employment discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and wrongful termination, as well as wage and hour and various other labor law claims. In this context, Mr. Jeremias is uniquely familiar and has extensive experience with employment matters particularly affecting physicians and healthcare workers.

Over the past decade, Mr. Jeremias has also cultivated experience in civil and commercial litigation in the context of civil rights and constitutional law matters, as well as commercial disputes, contract litigation, torts, and fiduciary litigation, in state and federal courts, Surrogate’s Court, and arbitrations before FINRA, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and JAMS. Mr. Jeremias further has had great success in civil trials and appeals. In addition, he has garnered invaluable experience in, and obtained successful outcomes for his clients through, alternative dispute resolution and mediation.

For years, Mr. Jeremias has been recognized in New York’s “Super Lawyers” as a “Rising Star.” Prior to joining McLaughlin & Stern, in 2010, Mr. Jeremias was named a “LaunchPad for Justice Fellow” to the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program, under Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Fern Fisher, where, under a practice order, he represented clients in Housing Court. While in law school, Mr. Jeremias worked at the Office of the New York State Attorney General and the Center for Constitutional Rights.
