Biography

Following graduation from Princeton University, (magna cum laude) and service in the Navy, Ed Klagsbrun obtained his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1961 and has been engaged in the general practice of law since then. He was a founding partner of Deutsch Klagsbrun & Blasband, and had practiced with that firm and predecessors for 36 years until joining McLaughlin & Stern as a partner.

His primary practice has been corporate and intellectual property law, including general representation of publishers, authors and others involved in the creation, dissemination, and licensing of intellectual property in all forms and media. In addition to copyright, trademark, defamation, privacy, trade secret, and media law, his practice has comprised mergers and acquisitions, and antitrust law. He has also acted as counsel, consultant, and trustee for various not-for-profit organizations.
