Lauren Elizabeth Touchard joined the firm in 2011 as an associate in the firm's trusts and estates practice. Her practice focuses on estate planning and estate and trust administration, as well as taxation. Her estate planning practice includes drafting wills, revocable trusts, insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, and grantor retained annuity trusts. She also has substantial expertise in wealth transfer planning and business succession planning, including tax leveraged transactions involving the transfer of closely held businesses to the next generation. She also focuses on asset protection planning, planned giving and private foundations – all with an emphasis on minimizing the impact of estate, gift and income taxes. Ms. Touchard represents clients before federal and New York State tax authorities. She also works with families of special needs individuals, establishing supplemental needs trusts and advising families on Medicaid matters and other governmental benefits.
Ms. Touchard is a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She is also member of the Nassau County Bar Association's Surrogate Court Estates and Trusts Committee and also its Tax Law Committee. She received her J.D. cum laude from New York Law School in 2007, where she earned Dean's List recognition in each academic year, and received her B.A. degree cum laude from Fairfield University in 2003. She is admitted to practice before the courts in New York and New Jersey.
